The Library: Silence and Violence

Stones vanishes in a blink of an eye, reappearing diagonally creature heading toward him. The warrior does not even bother to mutter hello as he brings his bastard sword heavily down on the creatures head with his bastard sword (29 roll and 20 hit points of damage). The blow draws no blood though, merely a wound that opens for a moment and then closes.

You hear Noienna muttering from somewhere inside Stones’ body. “It’s called an Eater of Knowledge – a Void Blade.”

Silently going toe-to-toe with the creature directly in front of him Radegast lands another blow with his axe (rolled 30, 14 hp damage). The silence is particularly deafening as the creatures do not give any indication of pain or pleasure.

"What are these things? My head can't take much more of this." Elby proceeds to bury two arrows into the creature in front of him (28 and 36 rolls, 18 and 11 damage). The arrows stick in the creature for a moment before being pushed back out, as though an invisible hand is inside the body. There are two holes where the arrows depart though they seal themselves quickly. Elby tries to get some distance between himself and the western Void Blade by moving to L8.

Stones continues his assault on the Void Blade in front of him. His bastard sword whips about in a figure eight pattern before landing another heavy blow (26 roll, 19 hit points damage). It still isn’t dead though. Stones looks at it and states, “You suck!”

“Thoughtbows!” cries out Noienna. She is most likely talking about the creatures at the top of the book cases.

The Western most Thought Bow pulls back on its invisible string. You can see the air pulse with the psychic energy. Which is beneficial to Elby as the Halfling twists himself out of the way at the last possible moment, the arrow coming so close that it seems like he can hear the voices that make up the weapon.

The Eastern most Thought Bow pulls back its invisible string. Its arrow is far more true, blasting Radegast. Radegast’s brain pulses under the psychic assault (14 hp.)

Still toe-to-toe Radegast finds himself on the receiving end of the creature’s scimitar blow. Radegast’s armor easily holds against the attack. Though the creature has not slowed down one bit.

The Western Voidblade follows closely behind Elby. Despite the halflings best efforts at dodging the scimitar finds its mark. Once again his minute mind is wracked with pain (6 hp).

The East Voidblade mounts an attack of its own, stepping forward toward Stones, its scimitar arcing downward in a blow that results in Stones’ mind rattling (12 hp.)

The silent creatures and the lack of sound of steel clashing make it for one of the odds battles you have ever had.

DM Note:

Initiative next round Elby, Radegast, and Stones
